For most visitors travelling to Costa Rica all you need is a valid passport that doesn’t expire within six months of your return date date.

Passport & visa information
- The passport expiration date must be six months and more from the return date.
- Plan ahead! In the United States, a new passport can take up to 11 weeks.
- Ensure the passport doesn’t have any tears, rips, or hole punches in it, as this will invalidate it.
- There are no visa requirements for the United States.
- Most countries do not require a visa, however, always double check visa requirements with a website such as Visa Central & your government
