Posters and flyers
Three directions. Any of them scales from hallway poster to letter size flyer. Final artwork goes to print once the itinerary and dates are locked.
Costa Rica
March 6 to 14, 2027Nine days of volcanoes, rainforest, reef and real Spanish in the streets of San Jose.
Interested? Talk to Mr. BuggieBig photo, minimal text. No price on the poster, students come ask.
One striking image does the selling. The poster asks a single thing of a student walking past: stop and want to go. Everything else, the itinerary, the price, the details, lives on the trip page and in the info night.
Why no price here
It sends interested students to Ms. Marlow, which starts a conversation instead of a snap judgment in a hallway. The full number is never hidden, it is on the trip page and stated plainly at the info night.
Formats it scales to
- Hallway and dining hall poster, 11 by 17 or larger
- Letter size flyer for take home
- Digital screens around campus, same art in 16 by 9
Easy to adjust
- Hero photo swaps freely, volcano, reef or lodge
- Contact line can name Mr. Perry too, or add a QR code
Cushing Academy Spring Break
Costa Rica
2027
March 6 to 14
- Irazu volcano
- Cacao farm and sugar mill
- Caribbean reef day
- Jungle lodge on the Pacuare
Typographic, school colors ready. Price stated upfront so parents see the full number from day one.
Everything a family needs to decide is on the poster: dates, highlights and the full price. No surprises later, which builds trust with parents from the first contact.
Why price upfront can work
Families self select early, so the students who come to Ms. Marlow are already realistic about the commitment. The all in framing matters: one number, airfare included, no fee stacking afterwards.
Formats it scales to
- Hallway poster and letter flyer
- Works especially well on digital screens, dark background reads at distance
Easy to adjust
- Palette can shift toward Cushing school colors
- Highlight list is editable, four lines maximum keeps it clean
- Price line comes off in one edit if we decide against it
Costa Rica
March 6 to 14, 2027Museums, markets, volcano, cacao, reef and the river valley. Nine days that do not fit on a poster.
Ask Mr. Buggie or Mr. PerryShow the trip, not one image. Works well next to a QR code pointing at the trip page.
Six photos tell the story of nine days at a glance. Students see themselves in the variety: one image will hook the hiker, another the foodie, another the one who just wants the zipline.
The photos upgrade over time
These six are from our own trips. Once the teacher trip photos are picked, the strip can carry images from the exact route Ms. Marlow traveled in July, which makes the poster literally true.
Formats it scales to
- Hallway poster with a QR code straight to the trip page
- Letter flyer, strip compresses to one row of three
- The strip alone works as an Instagram carousel
Easy to adjust
- Any photo swaps independently
- Price line can be added under the dates if we go that way
Parent info night deck
Nine slides, about twenty minutes plus questions. Every slide gets full photography and the trip page carries the detail, so the deck stays light. Click a slide for its talking points.
Costa Rica 2027
Cushing Academy Spring Break, March 6 to 14
What this slide does
Sits on screen while families arrive. Dates visible from the first second, since spring break planning is the first thing on a parent’s mind.
Talking points
- Welcome, introductions, who is in the room
- One line on Global Trails and the partnership with Cushing
- Promise of the evening: the plan, the cost, how to sign up, in twenty minutes
Why this trip
- Designed with Cushing, not off a shelf
- Ms. Marlow traveled the route herself this July
- Real immersion, not a resort week
What this slide does
Separates this from a catalog tour before anyone asks. The strongest card is that a Cushing teacher already walked the route and shaped the plan around what she saw.
Talking points
- Ms. Marlow tells one concrete story from her July trip
- The itinerary was built from her notes, not from a template
- Students meet Costa Rica, not a resort: markets, farms, a working school exchange
The trip at a glance
- Nine days, one country, one loop
- San Jose, Irazu, Turrialba, Caribbean coast
- Closes at our riverside lodge near the airport
What this slide does
Puts the whole route in one picture. A simple map with the loop drawn on it beats any list of place names.
Talking points
- Land in San Jose, no long transfer on arrival day
- The loop climbs to Irazu, drops into the Turrialba valley, reaches the Caribbean, ends at the lodge
- Ending near the airport means the last day is short and calm, not a race
Day by day highlights
- Gold and Jade museums, Central Market
- Cacao farm, sugar mill, school exchange
- Reef day with a marine guide
What this slide does
Gives parents three or four vivid moments instead of a full itinerary readout. The trip page carries the complete day by day, and the QR code on the handout points there.
Talking points
- Central Market: students order, ask and bargain in real Spanish
- Cacao farm and sugar mill: where chocolate and sugar actually come from
- Exchange with a local school: the day students remember most
- Reef day with a marine guide on the Caribbean side
Where we stay, how we move
- Vetted hotels and our own lodge
- Private transport the whole way
- No drive longer than three hours
What this slide does
Answers the two questions every parent has before they raise a hand: where does my kid sleep and how do they get around.
Talking points
- Hotels we work with year round, plus our own lodge on the river
- Private bus and driver for the entire trip, no public transport
- Route designed so no single drive passes three hours
- Photos of the actual rooms, not stock images
Safety and supervision
- Local bilingual guides on every day
- Cushing chaperones, one per six students
- Communication plan for parents
What this slide does
The slide parents came for. Concrete numbers and names beat reassuring adjectives.
Talking points
- Bilingual local guides with the group every day, they know every stop personally
- Cushing chaperones at one adult per six students
- How parents hear from the group during the trip, updates and photos
- Medical care access along the whole route
Cost and what is included
- $4,400 per student, airfare included
- Fare quoted near $600 from Boston, the one moving part
- Booking early keeps it down. Medical insurance separate
What this slide does
States the full number once, plainly, with what is behind it. The one number framing prevents the fee stacking suspicion that kills sign ups.
Talking points
- $4,400 per student covers the trip end to end, international airfare included
- Airfare is the one moving part: quoted near $600 from Boston, it settles when tickets are bought, and booking early usually means cheaper
- Chaperones travel at no cost to families
- Medical insurance is separate, we point families to options
How to sign up
- Small group, spots are limited
- Enrollment window and deposit dates
- Fundraising options if the school wants them
What this slide does
Converts interest into commitment before the room empties. Clear window, clear deposit, clear next step tonight.
Talking points
- Group size is small, roughly a dozen spots, first come first served
- Enrollment window and deposit amount, dates set with the school
- Fundraising options exist if Cushing wants to open that door
- The single next step: the sign up form or a conversation with Mr. Buggie tonight
Questions
- Mr. Buggie and Mr. Perry
- Global Trails on the call if useful
- Trip page with the full itinerary
What this slide does
Stays on screen during questions with every contact and the trip page QR code visible, so nobody leaves without knowing where to follow up.
Talking points
- Mr. Buggie and Mr. Perry on logistics and sign up, Ms. Marlow on what the trip is like on the ground
- Global Trails can join live for the detailed questions if that helps
- QR code to the trip page with the full day by day
Social content for school channels
Three formats on rotation between launch and the enrollment deadline, all reusable on Instagram and Facebook. Click one for an example post.
Teachers went first
Posts built on the July teacher trip. Ms. Marlow walked this exact route, so the school is not selling a brochure, it is sharing a trip a teacher already lived.
Authenticity is the whole pitch. A teacher’s own photos and words carry more weight with students and parents than any produced content, and Cushing families already know and trust Ms. Marlow.
Example caption
Cadence
- Two or three posts at launch using her best photos
- One quote card with a line from her about the trip
One day, one post
A carousel per highlight. Museum day, cacao and sugar mill, reef day, the lodge. Nine days gives the school weeks of content without repeating itself.
Each highlight recruits a different student. The reef day catches one, the zipline another, the market a third. Spreading them over weeks keeps the trip in the feed the whole enrollment window.
Example caption
Cadence
- One highlight carousel per week
- Order them from most visual to most niche
Countdown and milestones
Spots filling, deadline approaching, group confirmed, tickets booked. Each milestone is a post, and each post nudges the next family to commit.
Urgency without pressure. Real milestones, honestly reported, do the nudging on their own: families move when they see the group actually forming.
Example caption
Cadence
- Post only true milestones, never manufactured scarcity
- Final week gets a short daily countdown
