PARTICIPANT RELEASE OF LIABILITY, WAIVER OF CLAIMS, ASSUMPTION OF RISKS, AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT

Because guided travel and adventure activities involve inherent risks, we recommend that you supplement your existing insurance with comprehensive travel insurance. Cancellations made within 30 days of a trip departure date are non-refundable.

In consideration of the services provided by Costa Rican Resource and its agents, owners, officers, employees, contractors, volunteers, and all other persons or entities acting in any capacity on its behalf, I, the undersigned, acknowledge and agree as follows:

I understand that participation in a fully guided trip in Costa Rica involves significant risks. These risks may include, but are not limited to: loss of or damage to personal property; injury, illness, or death; risks associated with transportation by vehicle, boat, or other means; slips, trips, and falls on uneven or natural terrain; exposure to rivers, oceans, and other bodies of water; adverse weather conditions; food- or water-related illness; limited access to medical care in remote locations; encounters with wildlife, insects, or domestic animals; physical exertion; and exposure to communicable diseases.

I acknowledge that these risks may arise from natural conditions, my own actions or inactions, the actions of others, or the negligence of Costa Rican Resource or its representatives.

I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, BOTH KNOWN AND UNKNOWN, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AND I ACCEPT FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR MY PARTICIPATION IN THIS TRIP. I understand that I am responsible for my own safety and well-being. I further agree that any costs incurred for emergency evacuation, rescue, or medical care are my sole responsibility.

I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives, and estate, hereby release, indemnify, and hold harmless Costa Rican Resource and its agents, owners, officers, employees, contractors, and representatives from any and all claims, demands, losses, or damages, including those arising from negligence, related to any injury, disability, death, or loss or damage to person or property arising out of or connected with my participation in this trip, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

I grant Costa Rican Resource permission to use photographs, video, or other media taken during the trip for promotional and marketing purposes without compensation.

I have read this agreement, fully understand its terms, understand that I am giving up substantial legal rights, and agree to it freely and voluntarily. Any disputes arising from this agreement shall be governed by the laws of Costa Rica, with venue in Turrialba, Costa Rica.
