A Costa Rica trip focusing on fun and fluency
Day One: Arrive in Costa Rica
Welcome to Costa Rica. Today you will be met outside the airport we are going to drive you out of the Capital City looking for the home of Turrialba Smokey Volcano, On the way
to Turrialba we’ll stop at a local “soda” (Costa Rican restaurant) where students will navigate the Spanish menu and order on their own. Our destination will be the Sitio de Mata Village where the homestays families are going to be waiting for
us.
Day one details:
Day two & Three: Speaking Spanish like a local
Days two and three are spent doing a service project in Sitio Mata and a chocolate tour at the famous Nortico Cacao Farm. Both days emphasize Spanish with our host families and guides speaking slow, comprehensive Spanish allowing the students to soak up as much as possible le.
Day 2 & 3 activities:
Day Four-Six: Rafting, Ziplining and waterfalls
Hard work comes with a big reward: On Day Four we’ll raft the Pacuare River into our private river lodge. Once there, the students will learn how to cook casado and fun Costa Rican deserts. Day Five we’ll complete our zipline course, including the famous Tarzan Swing. After lunch, the guides will take the students on a waterfall hike where they’ll learn about the bio-diversity of the Pacuare River basin. On Day Six, we hop back into the rafts, where the guides will only give paddling commands in Spanish as we navigate the world-famous Pacuare River Gorge.
Day 4-6 details:
Day seven: head home
Today we will make the drive to the San Jose Airport where we will send your kids home with a better understanding of what Costa Rica and “Pura Vida” is all about!
