 Nature Tour
Day 1Arrive and stay at Grano de Oro (Grano de Oro)Today we will meet you at the airport and take you to the Grano de Oro Hotel. When we arrive to the hotel we will go over some of the different species of plants and animals we will visit during the week. (Meals: Breakfast) Day 2Fly to Corcovado (Lapas Rio)What better place to start our nature trip than the famous Corcovado National Park, considered the most bio-diverse place on the planet. The flight is a beautiful tour in itself. The hotel of choice will be the Villa Lapas which is an amazing hotel surrounded by exquisite nature. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner) Day 3Nature Hikes (Lapas Rio)Today it will be long pants and bug spray. We’ll be making our way into the jungle and looking for all the different wildlife and plants species you can imagine. Our first hike will be early in the morning looking for different species of birds. We will spend the better half of the morning hiking and then have a chance to hike in the evening too. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner) Day 4Sea-Kayak & Night Tour (Villa Lapas)Today we will enjoy paddling in the sea looking for some wildlife in the mangroves. In the evening we’ll take a night hike since so much of nature comes out at night and we would hate to leave the area without catching a glimpse at some of the evening animals. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner) Day 5Fly to Tortuguero (Manatos)Today will be a travel day and we will take the early flight out to San Jose where we will have another flight that takes us to the Venice of the Rainforest. The famous area called Tortuguero is one of the favorite nesting sites for sea turtles and a great area to watch them nest their eggs. We will arrive at Tortuguero just after lunch and enjoy a nature cruise on a boat through the canals of Tortuguero. Day 6Visit Turtles and Nature Float (Manatos)Today we will wake up very early and take another float when nature is waking up. We’ll make our way back to the hotel to explore the grounds for a bit and visit the beach and the town of Tortuguero. In the evening you will have the opportunity to make the night hike out on to the beach and see the sea-turtles laying their eggs. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner) Day 7Drive to San Jose (Airport Hotel)Today we’ll drive back to San Jose where you will stay at an airport hotel. This drive is very interesting going through the former United Fruit Company Plantations. Tthe history lessons about the banana crop is quite interesting. We will also visit an area where you get to see the process of the banana being picked and shipped.
