Day 1

Arrive and drive to Casa Turire (Casa Turire Hotel)

Today we will meet you outside the airport and drive you to your first hotel. This will be a 1 ½ hour drive from the airport and a chance to drive through the capital city of San Jose. We’ll make your way south of San Jose where you will stay at Casa Turire. This is an absolutely beautiful hotel with amazing views of the Turrialba Volcano which at this present moment is very active and smoking. (Meals: None)

Day 2

Raft Pacuare & drive to Arenal Volcano (Nayara Resort)

Rated as one of the top 5 rivers in the world, the famous Pacuare is a must-do in Costa Rica. If you’re not up for the class III & IV rapids of the Pacuare we have a smaller river for the little ones called Pejibaye. The rafting is very close to the hotel and you will be on your private raft as compared to going down with large commercial rafting companies. After the rafting we will make the drive to the famous Arenal Volcano which is erupting constantly and you will have amazing views from the balcony of your room when at the Nayara Resort. This hotel was voted one of the best hotels in all of Central America. (Meals: Breakfast & Lunch)

Day 3

Zipline & La Fortuna Falls (Nayara Resort)

If the rafting was not enough adventure then we will try hanging from a zipline that is strung 700ft above the rainforest. With over 70 ziplines in the country this is by far the best. This is an amazing zip with great views of the volcano and nearby Arenal Lake. After the zipline we will take you to one of the most scenic spots in the country which is the waterfall of La Fortuana. You will have the evening to relax at the hotel and enjoy the pool or we will take you out for dinner. (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 4

National Park Hike & HotSprings (Nayara Resort)

Today we will be making it a bit educational keeping everyone informed how this monster volcano formed and the history behind it. The National Park is an amazing hike to see the old lava flow and learn about the volcano. We will take the hike and enjoy great views and watch the boulders roll down the side of the volcano from the view point. In the evening we will let everyone relax as we enjoy the hotsprings with views of the volcano. (Meals: Breakfast & Dinner)

Day 5

Drive to Manuel Antonio (Arenas del Mar)

Today we will say good-bye to the volcano and enjoy a very scenic drive down the Pacific Coast. It will be a travel day and we will plan on leaving early in the morning and arrive to this beautiful beach resort just after lunch. If you want to sleep to the sound of waves crashing then this is the place for you. With one of the best ocean views in the country this hotel just makes your beach experience an absolute paradise. (Meal: Breakfast)

Day 6

Tour National Park Manuel Antonio (Arenas del Mar)

Today we will see how the jungle meets the ocean. We’ll take a hike through the National Park with its abundance of wildlife. This is a great way to enjoy the many species of monkeys in the park and also get some beach time. We will have all afternoon to enjoy the white sandy beaches of Manuel Antonio. (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 7

Beach Day (Arenas del Mar)

Today is your day to relax. After the adventures and learning much about the country it’s time to just lounge at the hotel or enjoy the sand. If the kids are up for some surf classes that can always be an option. (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 8

Fly Home!!!

Today we will make the drive back to the San Jose airport for your flight home and start planning next year’s trip! There is still lots to see & do in Costa Rica.
